Lancome Mademoiselle Isabella (508) L’Absolu Rouge Drama Matte Lipstick (2022) ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a deep purple with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had a smooth, lightweight texture that had enough glide to apply comfortably but not slide around during wear. It had nearly opaque pigmentation but I struggled to get it to adhere as well to the inner area of my lips, which stood out due to the contrast between my natural lip color and the lipstick hue. This shade stayed on well for five and a half hours and felt neither drying nor hydrating.

Formula Overview

$32.00/0.12 oz. - $266.67 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to deliver "intense bold color in one swipe" with a "vibrant and matte finish." The texture is firmer, slightly denser and stiffer, though not to the point where it dragged or became painful to apply. I found that the added stiffness made it easier to get a more precise edge when working with the formula, which was quite pigmented overall.

Despite having a very matte finish, as promised, the formula sat well on my lips and did not seem prone to emphasizing lip lines, settling into lip lines, or clumping around texture, which made it a more flattering matte formula to wear. They were transfer-resistant and longer-wearing with many shades lasting over six hours on me. The formula felt lightly hydrating to non-drying overall and were comfortable to wear.

They had a floral scent and very subtle taste at times, though not consistently for me.
