Profumum Confetto Perfume Review

Profumum Confetto Perfume Review

Profumum Roma Confetto Eau de Parfum is a creamy, almond-vanilla duo that starts its journey with spicy, aromatic anise that is gradually joined, and then overtaken, by darker amber and musk. While a sweet, nutty fragrance, it was nowhere near as sweet as some of the more gourmand perfumes by Profumum and is much creamier overall. The notes are listed as:

  • top notes: almond
  • heart notes: anise
  • base notes: vanilla, amber, musk

The opening was harsher, bitter citrus with vanilla-almond and crisp, chilly spice in the background, and then the anise came forward with its spicy, aromatic bite that seemed a little bitter and green. There was some powderiness behind the whole composition within 15 minutes of application. I found that the anise was most discernible with a creamy almond, lightly sweetened, was a soft cloud behind it.

The almond became more dominant after an hour of development over lightly spiced vanilla and subtle muskiness. After four hours, the drydown was primarily almond, vanilla, and a smidgens of amber and musk coming through, but it proceeded to get smoother, more blended, and sweeter for the next several hours without changing much.

Application

For testing, I used 1/3 of a 0.7ml sample vial dabbed to the underside and topside of my wrist area on my left arm. I used an unscented moisturizer prior to applying the scent as this is also my swatching arm (aka, incredibly parched at any given moment) as I found scent did not hold well here otherwise.

Longevity

It lasted for six hours until it was a skin-scent and about 12 hours before it was quite difficult to detect on my skin. The sillage and projection were moderate with the sillage dropping faster than the projection after two and a half hours of wear.

Personal Thoughts

Almond must not be a note that I’m over-the-moon for because this was largely almond and didn’t strike me as something I had to have. It was no hardship to wear by any means, but it was particularly linear so it didn’t end up being something I’d purchase.

Available Sizes

  • 100ml for $275
  • 18ml for $93 (harder to find size in the US)
  • 0.7ml sample for $6
