Lethal Cosmetics Deadlock, Entropy, Gateway Glitch Liquid Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches

Deadlock

Lethal Cosmetics Deadlock Glitch Liquid Eyeshadow ($21.00 for 0.24 oz.) seemed to have a transparent base with shimmer and fine sparkle that had a multichromatic shift between lavender, gold, greenish-gold, and blue. The finish was twinkling, but the coverage was very sheer, did not build up, and the formula was difficult to work with. I only found it workable layered over eyeliner, where the unevenness and texture were less apparent.

The consistency was very watery with about 20-30 seconds of play time, which dried down to a transfer-resistant finish but faded noticeably within five hours of wear. I had the best luck applying this on the back of my hand initially, then picking up product with separate brush to apply to the lid; this seemed to minimize some of the wateriness on my lid, so it didn’t look as streaky or as patchy as it would have if I applied directly to my lid. I found fingertips pushed around the product and resulted in large bald spots instead of even coverage.

Formula Overview

$21.00/0.24 oz. - $87.50 Per Ounce

The formula is described as "water-based" and having "exceptional wear time and zero fallout" and can be applied in a "single swipe" on the lid. The brand recommended to allow the formula to dry down before opening eyes "all the way" to avoid creasing. It's an incredibly wet and watery formula, which made it hard to use and have sheerer coverage.

The majority of shades were more like multichromatic top coats rather than full-on eyeshadows--less "one swipe." They were a challenge to apply evenly, as the watery formula was prone to visibly streaking whether I used the included-applicator (the worst tool), fingertips (only decent if semi-dried down already but always sheered out the product considerably), and brushes (both fluffy and flat synthetic options).

I had the best results using a flat brush to apply and a clean, fluffy brush to diffuse the edges a bit after giving it a few seconds to dry down. It was usually easier to take the included-applicator, swipe product onto the back of my hand, then pick up product with a brush--this made it so my skin absorbed some of the wateriness and prevented some of the streaking when applied to my lid.

Despite being a rather watery formula, the dry down time was actually too long--getting product into my fine lines as it was drying down was very minimal of an issue. The uneven, sometimes patchy and other times streaky, applicator was really the pressing problem. The more pigmented shades applied more smoothly, while the sheerer shades seemed to ball up in places, which resulted in a chunkier finish that could emphasize lid texture.

It's a shame they were so difficult to apply, because the finish was really stunning; fine, glimmering particles that reflected the light and danced without being chunky or glittery. They were comfortable to wear and were transfer-resistant, as promised, and lasted four to six hours on me before fading.

Entropy

Lethal Cosmetics Entropy Glitch Liquid Eyeshadow ($21.00 for 0.24 oz.) seemed to have a blackened base with subtle sparkle that had a multichromatic shift between green to olive green to plum to warm purple. It had mostly opaque coverage in a single layer, which made it one of the more pigmented shades in the line up, but the watery consistency made it hard to apply evenly and maintain that coverage.

It was best applied heavily without blending out the edges as the more I tried to manipulate it, the more uneven and patchy it appeared. The formula dried down in about 20 seconds, so there was a lot of play time, and it settled slightly into my fine lines while drying down if I wasn’t careful. This shade showed signs of fading after six hours of wear.

Gateway

Lethal Cosmetics Gateway Glitch Liquid Eyeshadow ($21.00 for 0.24 oz.) seemed to have a transparent base with larger sparkle that had a multichromatic shift between warm gold to green to pink. It was more metallic and looked chunkier on my skin; it was particularly textured and patchy when applied with a fingertip–just totally unworkable for me.

This shade had sheer coverage, did not build up well, and was difficult to apply evenly; the best results were when I used a fluffy, synthetic brush, but it was a very “don’t look too closely” result–still quite uneven. The formula was very watery, took longer to dry down, which may have been part of why it was particularly streaky, but it didn’t get easier to work with after letting it dry down for a few seconds first. There was fallout after five hours and noticeable fading after four hours.
