Terra Moons Matte Eyeshadows & Pressed Pigments Reviews & Swatches (Part 2 of 5)

Jupiter and I

Terra Moons Jupiter and I Neon Matte Pressed Pigment ($6.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a neon, light-medium pink-coral with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was fairly powdery and thinner, so it was harder to work with as it had some fallout and had to be built up to get decent coverage. It definitely needed to be applied over a base of some sort. It had medium to semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that lasted for eight hours on me.

Formula Overview

$6.00/0.05 oz. - $120.00 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to be "blendable" and "pigmented" with "a bit of kick up" when used due to being "pressed by hand." Some shades come with "additional information" such as being sheerer on the brand's website (for that particular shade) or to use a "glitter primer" due to the finish.

I found that some matte shades were more noticeably powdery than others, but whether there was just a little bit of powderiness or more noticeable powderiness really depended on a shade. The neon shades were the most powdery and hardest to work with on their own; some had more specific tips/guidance on how to work with them, which I felt was great for disclosure, but it could get hard to remember what shade needs to be applied in such and such fashion since it really did vary a lot shade by shade. The darker and less neon matte shades tended to perform the best for me--more pigmentation, better blendability, and were easier to work with and were more consistent.

Most shades--matte and more shimmery--were pigmented, easy to blend, and applied well to bare skin. They lasted between seven and eight hours with most closer to eight hours before fading (more of the mattes) or creasing (some of the more intense metallics).

Spacewalker

Terra Moons Spacewalker Matte Eyeshadow ($6.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a light-medium, peachy yellow with warmer undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation with a soft, smooth consistency that was a little powdery, so I did find it sheered out a little in practice. I’d recommend using it with an eyeshadow primer, which helped the powder adhere better. The color showed signs of fading after seven and a half hours of wear.

Land on the Stars

Terra Moons Land on the Stars Neon Matte Pressed Pigment ($6.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a bright, highlighter yellow with a hint of green paired with a matte finish. The consistency felt soft, more finely-milled, but it was moderately powdery and had light fallout during application.

It had semi-opaque pigmentation that could be built up but needed a primer to do so. I didn’t have any issues with evenness or blending the edges, though. It wore well for eight hours and left a faint stain behind.

Twilight

Terra Moons Twilight Matte Eyeshadow ($6.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a light yellow with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was moderately powdery and prone to sheering out a bit along with light fallout during the initial blending. It had semi-opaque pigmentation but had to be applied over an eyeshadow base to build up. It lasted for seven and a half hours before fading visibly.

Ivy

Terra Moons Ivy Matte Eyeshadow ($6.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium green with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had mostly opaque color payoff that could be built up to full coverage with less than half of a layer more. The texture was soft, smooth, and a little powdery but wasn’t prone to fallout or sheering out too easily. It wore nicely for eight hours before fading a bit.
